Why Participate in the GCS?

As the global economy becomes increasingly integrated, leaders from across the world must also become more integrated in their thinking. The GCS believes that effective global leaders are derived from capable men and women from different backgrounds and interests who believe in making a difference in shaping the world around them, and moving society forwards. We believe in seeking out talented decision makers, and giving them the tools and skills they need to make this difference. We have designed an interactive conference delegates will get a chance to work in committees, attend workshops and panel discussions, network with professionals, make your entrepreneurial venture a reality, and be exclusively considered for scholarships from Sauder School of Business exclusively for GCS delegates.

How do I Succeed at the GCS?

The GCS is a one-of-a-kind conference in all aspects. It is also unique in how it distributes awards. The GCS emphasizes cooperation between different sectors, flexibility, focus, analysis, leadership, and diplomacy. Delegates will be recognized for their success in demonstrating these skills, and also for their willingness to work together and combine ideas while maintaining the integrity of their assigned position.

Participation in committee, positive contribution to debate, and leadership qualities are all positive attributes. While the GCS encourages and recognizes hard work, thorough research of the topic areas and active participation, competitiveness should not overshadow the true mission of this conference, which is cross-sector collaboration and commitment to creating positive change in the world. Therefore, awards are decided by a holistic evaluation of how a delegate exemplifies the spirit of the simulation.
